Bible Question: Someone told me today at church that we are equal with Jesus. I don't think this is right. He is my Lord and He is equal with God. I have been trying to find scriptures about being equal with Jesus without success. Any ideas? |
Bible Answer: Someone has misunderstood scripture. The Church is the body of Christ. He is the head. To be equal to Jesus would be, to be able to get along without Him. Can the hand replace the head? I think not. No doubt, some doctrines may teach such, but such teaching is straight from the mouth of the enemy. It sounds like "Secular Humanism." I can't remember where, But I seem to remember Jesus stating "I no longer call you servants, but brothers." Perhaps this is where such a mistaken statement came from. |
