Bible Question: What does the bible say about purgatory? |
Bible Answer: The Bible doesn't say anything at all about purgatory nor does it portray anything about God's allowing mankind a second opportunity to attain Heaven after leaving this life here on earth. But instead we're given clear guidance from Heb 9:26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Paul's (assumed author) words here are very clear and straight forward in contrast to the figurative language as reflected in some other difficult passages. So we should always prefer God's clear Words whenever possible. Blessings to you. Country Girl |
