Subject: blasphemy against the holy spirit.... |
Bible Note: Hi gracefull, Your parentheses that you have added to your statement make all of the pronouns to be speaking of the Holy Spirit. Is this Person of the Holy Spirit drawing us to a man, Christ? No, I don't believe you would say that. So the drawing to Christ and the saving faith in Jesus Christ would require your parentheses also. It is difficult to assign the pronouns to a particular Person of the Trinity. I believe that the resurrection of the Christ assures us that He is God, and since God is Spirit, we can think of all the pronouns as Spirit. That is why we capitalize them; to show Deity, Spirit, and not just a man but the Son of Man, the Son of God, a Holy Spirit. It is interesting is it not that there are three occurances of "against the Holy Spirit". These are "mathematical" matches in my ongoing study of pronouns. I can see that neither the Father, Son, nor the Holy Spirit can be blasphemed against. The only reason that the Son of Man can be blasphemed against is because Christ came in the likeness of men and the Son of Man was made a little lower than God. See Psalm 8:5, Hebrews 2:6-8. But at the last we will see all things subjected to Him. From the heart, Ray |
