Subject: Did Jesus ever drink wine? |
Bible Note: Dear Tim: To be specific Did you say anything short of abstinence is a sin? The bible does not command us not to drink wine. It does command us not to get drunk. The only way a person could get drunk is to drink wine. This is not broad. It is very specific. It is not a sin to drink a glass of wine with a meal which is the original question. As to whether the content was the same in ancient times, we have some references of people getting drunk so whether it was four to one, they still managed to do it. I am glad you do not beat your congregation over the head with the topic. In my neck of the woods, they do. I thought the response of hopealong with the gotquestions answer covered it pretty good. I don't have any thing to add. In closing we will have to agree to disagree my friend. Blessings, Val |
