Bible Question: I would like to know the verse where Jeaus refers to John the babtist as Eliza, The people ask him if he were elizhah and he responded by saying elizah had come by they did not recognize him, he was referring to John.Sorry about the misspelling |
Bible Answer: Elizabeth, Matt 11:14. But see also John 1:21-28, where John says he is not Elijah. What Jesus seemed to be inidcating was that John was coming in the spirit of Elijah, even as we see Elisha asking to be blessed wit a double portion of Elijah's spirit on 2 Kings 2:10. This is not about reincarnation, though some use Matt 11:14 to try and make that case. Emmaus |
