Bible Note: The Holy Spirit, as you know, can do many things. As regards being "born again," note Romans 8:15-17: "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Ask yourself: Why does 'the creation wait in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed' as verse 19 states? I think John and all who died before Pentecost, including the evil-doer next to Jesus, are the "creation" that look to be made perfect and enjoy life under Christ and the heirs of God. |
