Subject: Is Jesus "least" in kingdom of heaven? |
Bible Note: Makarios, thank you responding so quickly. I'm sorry, if I seem dense - but You stated that you believe "that we can plainly see that John the Baptist is who Jesus is speaking of when He says, "Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." [ESV] My question took that verse into complete consideration. Jesus IS speaking of John when He stated "there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist". I agree. BUT, how could Jesus also mean John who is the LEAST in the kingdom - IF, among those born of women there has arisn NO ONE GREATER than John the Baptist? I recongize that there is NO other name under heaven whereby we must saved. And Jesus' name is abouve all other names. And His shed blood, death and resurrection is vital for our salvation. Do you understand what I am trying to ask? Is John the Baptist BOTH the greatest born of women, AND the least in the kingdom of heaven? TommyS |
