Bible Question (short): Not Peace, But A Sword? |
Question (full): -In Luke 2:14, the angels said, "...peace on earth among human beings..." -Jesus said "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God" (Mat 5:9). -Jesus left His peace with His men (Jhn 14:27). -God has called us to peace (1Co 7:12-16). So why did He say "I did not come to bring peace, but a sword?" Is there a conflict? Steve |
