Bible Note: Greetings JMScott! 1) Yes, I agree that Christ is the rock in 1 Cor. 10:1-4. 2) Name Change: The text doesn't say why Moses changed Joshua's name, but it was not uncommon in Scripture for this to occur. Nowhere does it say that Moses changed his name because Joshua was Jesus. 3) Joshua 24: Of course he uses 'I', he is quoting God. The prophets all did the same thing too. Were they Jesus? 4) Exodus 24: The text says that Moses and Joshua set out together, but it only says that Moses went to the top. In v. 14, Moses is addressing the elder before he left - Joshua was with him then. However, by v. 15, only Moses is said to have went up the mountain. 5) The Letter J: There was no "J" in Greek either! What does that have to do with anything? I honestly don't understand your point here. 6) Jesus' name: Mt. 1:21 gives us the name of Jesus. 7) Which name, and which verse, do you believe is THE name for God? 8) Is. 42:8: Exactly how is God's name pronounced? They had no written vowels then, so how do we know how to pronounce it? Why not go with the longer version of Ex 3:15, "The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,"? 9) 2 Cor. 13:5 - Okay, I've examined myself. I been a Christian for over 31 years, and I'm still one. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
