AMPLIFIED 2015 | Numbers 20:12 But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you have not believed (trusted) Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, you therefore shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them." [Ps 106:32, 33] |
Bible Question: Why didn't Moses enter the Promised Land? |
Bible Answer: Controling: In Numbers 20: 7-11 Moses was asked by the Lord to speak to the rock before the people and was promised that water would flow. Instead, of speaking to the rock as the Lord had commanded, he railed on the people saying "hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of the rock? And Moses lifed up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice..." The water poured forth. In verse 12 "But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, " Because you have not believed Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them." Moses unbelief is shown by his disobedience to do what God had told him. Moses confirms this in Deut.1:37, Deut.3: 26, 27 |
