|Bible Question: What is the difference between "tithes" and "offerings"?|
Bible Answer: God's day to you, Fellow Pilgrim ...
A tithe is based on your income and an offering was based on an event, apart of what you made. Tho it appears they could be combined (Num 18:24)
There were three tithes
1) the general tithe paid to the Levites (Num 18:21), who even tithed to the preists (vs 26).
2) the sacred meal tithe (Deu 14:22-27)
3) The tri-annual tithe to the poor (Deu 14:28-29)
So that was 19 percent per year and 27 percent every three years, average 22 percent.
These are several offerings … there are more
Burnt Offering (Exo 28:11-15)
Drink Offering (Exo 29:40)
Free-will offering (Exo 35:29)
Guilt/ Sin Offering (Exo 29:10)
Heave Offering (Exo 29:27)
Peace Offering (Exo 20:24)
