Bible Question:
to ed b, you answer my question some what, however you must have misunderstood my question. i never said i did not tithe nor if i did not believe in titheing, I only said that God is not just concern about tithes as he is about his children souls being saved from hell. we have people dying everyday and a lot of them did not have it right with God, I love the lord with heart and soul and I read my bible just like a lot of you do and my life is changeing. However when you talk about tithes it when people like you and a lot of other bible scholars who read what they want to read but never get the true understanding. thank you for answering part of my question because you never did, all you did was attack my off the bat because you misunderstood my question, so i assumed you feel God is concern more about the money than his children souls? |
Bible Answer: charles waller First let me say if you felt like I attacked you I'm sorry that was not my intention. Your question: "what should we really do about this chapter about tithes, because i am seeing so many church taking advantage of people who has a great heart for truth but because of so much false teaching about tithes have gotten me to the point that I would like to know what do God really want us to do with money. I feel that souls are more value than money and it is no way in the world I can except anything else. Please explain to me the truth about Malachi 3," The point I was trying to make is this, the church needs support to run. Malachi 3 gives us a guideline for that support. 2 Cor 9:5-7 talks about our attitude of giving. Now to your question is God more concerned about our money than our souls? I thought the answer was obvious, of course not! God doesn't want or need our money. God loved us enough to send His only begotten Son to die for us. God's only concern about money is whether it has trapped us and become more important to us than God himself. That is why God asks us to give. Our attitude in giving speaks volumes about where we place our trust, what is important in our lives and whether we have a sharing caring heart or are self centered. God already knows our attitude and whether we are willing to give or not, but God still asks so we must confront our own attitude. Does God want souls? Absolutely! Does God want our money? No, but He wants us to be willing to freely give it to others in true need. Are there abuses of money in our church? Absolutely. Some men are in ministry only for the money. Jesus called them hirelings and told us they would be with us down through the church age. They are false witnesses, false teachers and men that have already decided their doom. They are not our problem God will handle them. If you attend a church where you think the pastor is more concerned about the money than the souls then get out. If you see a man that is more concerned about money than souls move away. I hope this answers all your questions. If not restate them and before you hit the submit key please reread what you wrote to make sure it clearly says what you want it to say. EdB |
