NASB | Malachi 2:14 "Yet you say, 'For what reason?' Because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Malachi 2:14 But you say, "Why [does He reject it]?" Because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously. Yet she is your marriage companion and the wife of your covenant [made by your vows]. |
Bible Question:
Does anyone know the verse that speaks about how a man treats his first wife? I can not recall the premise, but I think it had to do with judgement based on how a man treats his first wife. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Bible Question |
Bible Answer: 1 1 Pet 3:7 In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God's unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.] |
