Bible Question: In Revelation 6 verse 2-5, does that in anyones opinion refer to 3 anti-christs, such as Napoleon, Hitler and the one yet to come? What does the 5th verse refer to? |
Bible Answer: Hello susannah! The imagery of the four horsemen comes from Zechariah 1:8-17; 6:1-8. The colors in Revelation correspond to the character of the rider (white symbolizes conquest). I do not believe that these horsemen would be referring to any specific dictator(s) throughout the world's history. Here is my view on what the Four Horsemen in Zech. 1:8-17; 6:1-8 and Rev. 6:2-8 stand for: 1) White Horse - (v.2) a spirit of conquest 2) Red Horse - (v.4) a spirit of bloodshed and war (Zech. 1:8,6:2) 3) Black Horse - (v.5) symbolizing famine (Zech. 6:2,6) 4) Ashen Horse - (v.8) symbolizing death There are many interpretations of what (or whom) the horses are or sybolize, and this is just my own point of view. Blessings to you! Nolan |
