Bible Question: What are specific ways that God prepared the world for Jesus's first coming during the 400 silent years? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Owl90, God used many of His spokesmen, or prophets, throughout the Old Testament to prophecy and declare the coming of Christ. During the 400 years from Israel's return from exile to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, history chronicles the rise of the Roman Empire as well as the dispersement of the Greek language throughout the entire speaking "world." These two specific cultural and historical 'happenings' proved integral to the life and times of Jesus Christ and to the speading of His gospel. Even so, the Lord specifically sent a 'messenger' ahead of Jesus, a 'forerunner', called John the Baptist, who would help prepare the world for the coming Light! Blessings to you, Makarios |
