NASB | Zechariah 12:10 ¶ "I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Zechariah 12:10 ¶ "I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace (unmerited favor) and supplication. And they will look at Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him as one who weeps bitterly over a firstborn. Bible Note: Greetings Followinghim! I said that it was interesting because a word that just happens to have the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet is quoted in a New Testament passage where Jesus is called the Alpha and Omega. I don't think that Zech. 12:10 is teaching that point though. This particle in Hebrew is an actual word. It just isn't translated - ever. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
