Bible Question:
I would like to ask the meaning of Isaiah 3:12. I have been taught this is proof that Christian women should not be in civil politics. Is there any other reference to prove that and if not, what exactly does this mean? |
Bible Answer: I do not believe that the passage in Isaiah actually means women any more than Nahum 3:13, I Samuel 4:9 and I Cornithians 16:13. God is dealing with the spirit behind the actions and women were not usually considered highly intelligent, wise, strong. Deborah was the exception rather than the norm. In no way is this a case for homosexuality, however I do not believe the bible teaches woman's lib. The be fair in my expression, neither does it teach that women are possissions. You would be going beyond rightly diving the word if you tried to use these scriptures to say that Christian woman should not be in civil politics. Are you trying to say that only the Jezabels (Ahab's wife) are allowed to rule or govern? I am not being sarcastic, just giving my point of view. |
