Bible Question: What do you think happens to Israel when Christ returns? Is there a literal restoration of the nation of Israel? |
Bible Answer: Those of us that view scritpure from a dispensational point of view believe what we see taking place in Israel could well be the restoration the Prophet Amos was talking about. Again those of us that hold a dispensational view of scripture, view the Book of Revelations as description of events taking place in Israel that will precede the second return of Christ Jesus. But there are many other views of the Israel many view the church as having replaced Israel. As such any prophecy that was made to Israel and as of yet unfulfilled is then applied to the church. So they see this promise in Amos as something that will take place in the future of the church. There are other views and variations of the above positions that are almost too numerous to mention. My best advice is to trust in God that He will make all things work to your good if you love Him and are called to His purpose and keep your eye on the course God has set before you. One day the fullest of this prophecy/scripture will be revealed and fulfilled and we all will know the answer. |
