Bible Question: Is this text saying that the priests were not allowed to go outside the sanctuary? |
Bible Answer: Verse 10 through 12. The high priest was not allowed to become ritually unclean, even at the death of his father or mother. His duties in the sanctuary could not be interrupted. For his exalted position before God, the high priest sometimes paid a high personal price. Reference book is the Nelson study bible. Personal note. As I understand it there was a rotation of priests. I am not understanding the part about going outside for fresh air. Do you think it was musty in there or something? I don't see preachers going outside for fresh air until their service is over. Same concept maybe? |
