AMPLIFIED 2015 | Leviticus 20:13 'If a man lies [intimately] with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed a detestable (perverse, unnatural) act; they shall most certainly be put to death; their blood is on them. |
Subject: Homosexual are picked on in the church? |
Bible Note: journey_me - I am sorry that you viewed my tough questions to you with antipathy and my comments as ad hominem slurs toward you. My objective in the post that you obviously found offensive was to support and defend the Forum's requirement of all posters who make sweeping statements on religious matters that they back up their theories/opinions/hunches with appropriate references to Scripture: book, chapter, and verse. ..... Young man, you are talking mighty sassy to me. I'm well over twice your age and was a follower of Christ 25 years or so before you were born. I didn't fall off a turnip truck last week and suddenly show up on Study Bible Forum. I've been consistently active on this Forum for more than five years and have learned a thing or two I believe. So why don't you just cool off and calm down and answer the questions I asked you in the post that you now find so out of line. It is not out of line. It is exceedingly proper to ask a fellow user to back up what he says with Scripture. Your question started this thread, and by the way you worded your question, it certainly gave me (and others) the distinct impression that you were more critical of the church's stand against the "gay" lifestyle than the lifestyle itself. So what has ensued is a long, often combative, thread on a subject on which the Bible leaves absolutly no wiggle room: The Bible condemns the practice. Period. A topic like this on which the Bible is resolute and crystal clear is not even debatable, and yet here we are, debating and quibbling, and filling Forum pages endlessly on the subject. (This is by no means the first time this subject has come before the Forum or the first time it has been debated). But no matter how many times human beings debate an issue on which God has clearly and plainly spoken, it is futile to presume that God is going to change His mind. ..... You have said a number of things in your bitter post to me that simply aren't true. But one in particular disturbs me greatly. You said to me, "Tell me what God would do, you seem to have His authority." How can you say such a thing, for it is a terrible thing to say to anyone, much less to a Christian such as myself whom you have never seen and about whom you know next to nothing. I forgive you your trespass and urge to you pray that God will forgive you. --Hank |
