NASB | Hosea 11:8 ¶ How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned over within Me, All My compassions are kindled. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hosea 11:8 ¶ How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart recoils within Me; All My compassions are kindled together [for My nation of Israel]. [Deut 29:23] |
Bible Question: We know God loves, but does that also mean He cries and feel pain with and for us? What scriptures confirm that? What emotions or feelings are spelled out? I believe until recently I thought of Him as more removed or distant from our earthly feelings. |
Bible Answer: With regard to God being "distant from our earthly feelings," do not forget Hebrews 4:15 "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Through Christ we have a God who has experienced our pain and suffering to the greatest extent imaginable. |
