AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hosea 11:8 ¶ How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart recoils within Me; All My compassions are kindled together [for My nation of Israel]. [Deut 29:23] |
Subject: What are God's emotions? |
Bible Note: Good scripture, Steve! We can find many instances of God showing what we would call emotions. I think we need to remember the idea that John Calvin expressed, that God uses baby talk with us. We have to be careful not to anthropomorphize. That said, I thought I'd point out the only passage in scripture that mentions God laughing: Psalm 2:4 "He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision." The object of God's laughter are the heathens. |
