Bible Question: In Lamentations 4:10-11, why did mothers kill and eat their children? And what God would vent such anger? Is this the God Jesus worshipped? |
Bible Answer: Dear infin, Jerusalem was laid seige and destroyed by the army of Babylon. The city was experiencing great famine. This chapter of Lamentations portrayed about the tribulation Israelites experiencing at that time. Why did they suffer so greatly? See chapter 1:8 (Jerusalem sinned greatly). You also need to read the book of Jeremiah. It would be good and helpful to study the history of the Israelites in the OT (starting from Abraham when God called him out and blessed him to become a great nation). You will see how rebellious (continuously rebelled against God) they were despite God's everlasting kindness, love and care on them. You ask: "Is this the God Jesus worshipped?" Can you elaborate? What do you believe Jesus to be? May I also ask you: What are the attributes of God that you know of when you read the Bible? May the Holy Spirit shed light on you and guide you in your study.
