NASB | Isaiah 9:20 They slice off what is on the right hand but still are hungry, And they eat what is on the left hand but they are not satisfied; Each of them eats the flesh of his own arm. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Isaiah 9:20 They slice off [in discord] what is on the right hand but are still hungry, And they eat what is on the left hand but they are not satisfied; Each eats the flesh of his own arm. |
Bible Question: can you explain to me what does Isaiah 9:20 (and he shall snatch on the right, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm) mean please help |
Bible Answer: AMPLIFIED Isaiah 9:20 They snatch in discord on the right hand, but are still hungry [their cruelty not diminished]; and they devour and destroy on the left hand, but are not satisfied. Each devours and destroys his own flesh [and blood] or his neighbor's. The best commentary is a good translation. Also, be advised: "Never read a Bible verse. That's right, never read a Bible verse. Instead, always read a paragraph–-at least" (www.str.org/free/studies/neverrea.htm). |
