Bible Answer: Prophets brought one of two general kinds of sayings from the Lord: blessings and cursings: Blessings to you (Jer 31:23) and woe to you (Jer 23:1). In this verse the prophet Isaiah -- probably the best man in all of Judah at the time -- was bringing curses upon his own head because he saw his own wretchedness in the light of God's great holiness. |
