Bible Question: Hi everyone i am starting to read the bible. I don't have any direction so I started with Isaiah. I just read Isaiah 6 and would love someone to interpet what i read. thank you for your insight. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Looking! Keep on reading my friend! One helpful resource can be found at our church's local web site: www.eccnazarene.org Simply go to the 'Helps' menu and select the 'One Year Bible Reading' option. From here, you can read through the Bible in a year, a little bit each day. You can read it in just about any translation, and you can even have the Bible read to you (which I enjoy). Now, let' go on to your question! Isaiah was called to preach coming judgement upon Judah. In Isaiah 6, Isaiah has an encounter with a Holy God. Through this encounter, Isaiah comes to realize his own sinfulness. This is ironic, because this is exactly what Judah had failed to realize about herself. God commisions Isaiah to preach coming judgement upon Judah and makes Isaiah aware that Judah will not respond to his message. This is a very short summary of Isaiah 6!
