Bible Question:
Interesting question mike, and very good answer lionheart. I have a question that follows up from that - what is meant then when it is said, (James 5:16) Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Is that saying that the more righteous someone is, the more likley God will answer their prayers? Thanks, SMO |
Bible Answer: Good day SMO, The prayer of a rightious man is powerful.Take this verse in context with verses 13-15 and you will see that our prayers are a matter of faith and if there is sin involved then God will forgive. Again I will also refer back to Isaiah 59:1. God hears prayer and if he hears he answers, the answer may not be what we expect but there will be an answer. If we dont hear it's because we are not listening. The problem is on our end not Gods. So likelyhood has nothing to do with God answering prayer. How we are doing spiritually can have a bearing on how effective our prayers will be. In Christ, lionheart |
