Does the Bible mention God not hearing the prayers of the lost? I know He hears the prayer of salvation from the lost, but what about a lost person "praying" for her dad who is real sick with cancer? My wife and I are trying to witness to her friend. She is not yet saved, but is asking the "why" and "how come" questions that lead to the prayer of salvation. She says she is "praying", but I am not sure what the Bible says about prayer from someone who is not yet saved. Please provide scripture so we can show her. Then when she gets saved, her prayers for her dad will be heard and answered. Please and thank you.
Bible Answer: xmikx,
Greetings,God turns a def ear to no one. It's
our sin and unbelief that keep us away from
God.There are numerous
times in my own life where God answered my
prayers. What makes you think God doesnt hear and isnt currently answering your friend's
prayers.Part of what moved me to becomming a
disciple of Jesus Christ
was knowing and trusting
that God was hearing my
prayers.God hears and answers prayer,it may not always be in the way
we expect but he answers nevertheless. God isn't arbitrary in anything he does. What ever God brings about it's always the best for
all concerned.Share Isaiah 59:1 with your friend and encourage her
that God does hear her
prayers. This is a time that you can encourage her and show her that she needs God and that
she needs to get right with
God and Jesus Christ is the only way that can
ever happen.Encourage her that God loves her.
This is a real opportunity for you and
your wife to minister to your friend. All of
you will be in my prayers.
