Bible Question: Are you allowed to drink when you fast? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Marissa1980, One of my favorite passages about fasting is in Isaiah 58:3-7, which ends with "Is this not the fast which I choose" (verse 6) ... "not to hide yourself from your own flesh?" (verse 7) So, if you believe in your heart that drinking something when you fast will hinder your spirit while fasting, then perhaps you can try to abstain from drink as well as food for a little while. I have always had at least a little water though, but that is between you and the Lord. Blessings to you, Makarios |
