Bible Question: Can anyone help me understand this passage in Isaiah as I am going to be preaching on it soon and would like to have a better understanding of what it is that needs to be clarified so I can be better equiped to put sermon together. Any helpers able to help me Please? Pete |
Bible Answer: Hi Pete, The way that I understand this is if you look back to 42:14 you will see that Isreal is not pleaseing Him at this time. The Lord will tell His people what they are doing wrong in His sight and what He will do if they turn and come back to Him now. The Lord tells his people who are call by His name to humle themselves and pray that He will open the gates of heaven and pour out a blessing. Please see the five promises in Psalms 91 as a reference. Also from the foot notes in the NSAB study bible you will find that the waters and the rivers could be the Red Sea and the Jordan. The Lord often tells of what He has done for His beloved to get them to come back to Him. His love is so deep that we cannot fully understand it, so we must take Him at His word. I hope this helps you. God Bless you. Andrew |
