Bible Question: How does this verse compare with black holes, stars no longer existing? |
Bible Answer: userdoe211, How do you know Isaiah is talking about literal stars in the universe? Isaiah, and most of the Old Testament, uses metaphorical language. Psalms 84:11 says God is a "sun", Malachi 4:2 says the "sun of righteousness" will rise with healing in its wings. Surely the word "sun" is used literally but it is also surely used in a symbolic or metaphorical sense. What in Isa. 40:26 forces us to understand it in a literal sense only? Sam Hughey |
