Bible Question: Is Leviathan in Job 41 Refering to Satan? |
Bible Answer: JA03: Leviathan as used in Job has been variously considered to be speaking of a mythological sea monster, a crocodile or other marine creature. Isaiah gives the word a symbolic meaning in Isaiah 27:1, usually interpreted to mean the enemies of God who will be judged when the Lord returns. To my knowledge, Leviathan is never used in Scripture to refer specifically to Satan. --Hank |
