Bible Question:
Isaiah 22:22, "Then I will set the key of David on his shoulder, When he opens no one will shut, When he shuts no one will open. 23 And I will drive him like a peg in a firm place, And he will become a throne of glory to his father's house." Revelation 3:7, NKJ, "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, 'He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens':" What are your thoughts concerning the difference in lower and upper cases for this One who is holy and true? Rev 3:7, NASB, "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: 'He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:'" Which translation of Revelation 3:7 would you go with? From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: Good morning Ray: I would go with the NASB. But this is only because I like it better. To me the passages are saying the same thing and refereing to to same One. The only difference is the repetition of the word He and the placement of "These things says(KJV)/says this(NASB). In my opinion this difference in of little importance. It is important though as to who Is the one speaking and in both cases I believe it to be correctly capitalized. Blessing to you Aaron |
