Bible Question (short): Angels have free will? |
Question (full): From this verse and the previous verse we take the account of the fall of Lucifer or satan. We also biblically know that lucifer held a high position in heaven, a worship leader and head angel or something like that. Since lucifer sinned and was cast out of heaven for his jealousy of God, can we assume that angels also have a free will and the option of making choices between good and evil? i realize that there was a choice given to a third of the angels that followed satan after he was kicked out of heaven. do angels really have a free will? do they still (today) have the option to leave God's side and join satan? i didn't think that angels had a choice. i thought that their created purpose was the service and worship of our Holy God. i thought that this is what separated them from us. angels were created to do God's will and we were created with the choice. i could be totally wrong on everything that i've stated, but i'm curious, my bible class is discussing this topic and we all have a lot of questions. i'd appreciate any help with these questions. thanks. |
