Bible Question:
Does anyone know of any biblical verses, stories, parables, or even extra-biblical texts that speak to the problems of humans attempting to gain Divine Knowledge?? I am writing a research paper, attempting to connect gods disapproval of humans seeking to gain divine knowledge, and be more "like-god", and the problems it causes. I need references from both the bible and/or extra biblical sources. The stories I have come up with so far are, 1) Eve seeking the knowledge of good/evil in eden 2) The creation of the Nephilim after interbreeding between angels (sons of god) and women (daughters of men) in Canaan. 3) The reference to angels teaching medicine and sorcery to women (Enoch 1). Any other parables that relate to this (especially the teaching of medicine, or human desire to be god-like) would be unbelievably helpful. Thank You!! |
Bible Answer: themerv019, Isaiah 14 might be worth looking at. However, for what my meager opinion is worth, I think you are going backwards. You are beginning with a conclusion and looking for things to support it. In Christ, Beja |
