Bible Question: Are verses 6-8 saying that humans will get to interact with wild animals once God makes everything perfect again? Will it be on earth, or in heaven? Thanks |
Bible Answer: Hi, Julia... That's a good question. I think that the first thing to remember is the genre of the passage. Often the prophets would use poetic language. Nonetheless, I do not see any reason to see this section of Scripture as being purely metaphorical. Thus, I do not think that we could be faulted for receiving what Isaiah is saying here in a fairly literal fashion. Let's keep in mind, though, the general thrust of his meaning in contrasting the time he is talking about from what we see in the world today. What Isaiah is talking about is the new earth. The redeemed will live resurrected lives upon the new earth. See Revelation 22. In Him, Doc |
