Subject: CAN YOU DEFINE THE LORD OF HOST |
Bible Note: Hi Makarios, Psalms 148:2, Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise (Him) in the heights! Praise Him all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him,/ all stars of light!" You can almost hear them singing, can't you.:) Psalm 147:1, "Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our (God); For it is pleasant and praise is becoming." Psalm 59:4b, "Arouse (Thyself) to help me, and see! And Thou, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, Awake to [visit] all the nations; Do not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity." Psalm 35:23, "Stir up (Thyself), and awake to my right, And to my cause, my God and my Lord." ***Isn't it great that the Lord of Hosts has stirred up Himself and has visited us and we may know Him as the Lord God of hosts, even the God of Israel. In Isaiah 1:11 I can hear Jesus say, "What are your multiplied sacrifices to (Me)?" says the Lord." And verse 13, "Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me." In the past I have looked at the book of Malachi along with the Isaiah 1:9 passage. Malachi 1:4, "Though Edom says, "We have been beaten down, but we will return and build up the ruins"; thus says the Lord of hosts, "..." And your eyes will see this and you will say, "The (Lord) be magnified beyond the border of Israel." And Malachi 1:6b, "And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the (Lord) of hosts To you the priests who despise My name." NKJ, parentheses are mine for comparison. The book of Malachi is a good book to learn of the Lord of hosts. From the heart, Ray |
