NASB | Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]--yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end. |
Bible Question (short): Does not "yapeh" mean "beauty?" |
Question (full): Why is "yapeh" or "yafeh" translated as "appropriate" in the NASB. All of the alternative words used to translate that word do have something to do with beauty or comeliness, as far as I can find. |
