Subject: God spoke to Moses..."I am Yahweh." |
Bible Note: Kalos You use a name with the vowels in Yahweh. How do you know they are at the right place? :-) Hebrew is recorded without the vowels and you had to know to the pronunciation to properly apply them. Since no Jew would say the word YHWH how do you know you have the right vowels in the right place? What your actually using for the name of God is what Tyndale suggested many years ago (1500’s) He took the tetragram YHWH and added the vowels from Adonai and came up with Yahweh. Laws of language at the time dictated you pronounce Y as J and W as V. Thus coming up with Jehovah. We have no idea in the world how to say YHWH. Therefore we have two choices either use the word God or call Him what God himself said would be his name forever. Exodus 3:15 (NKJV) Moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: 'The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.' EdB |
