AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 32:27 He said to them, "Thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'Every man strap his sword on his thigh and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his friend, and every man his neighbor [all who continue pagan worship].'" |
Bible Question:
Did Moses really order a mass killing in exodus 32:27-30 for the greater good? is it possible to say... after christ we have it fair, and those before christ did not? where is the love and understanding? were we randomly picked to live here and now, and we have like--the lucky straw? |
Bible Answer: Hello bravostarr It would be more correct to say that everyone who died got what he deserved. Every sin is worthy of death. We get that from Genesis 3. God is just and sin demands a just penalty. The fact that the whole nation was not wiped out is a clear indication of God's mercy. They all deserved it. The love and understanding had already come when God brought them out of Egypt. Steve |
