Bible Note: Sang Once again I did not say piercings or tattoos was justification to reject someone. We should never reject someone for any reason. You said we aren't told to stay out of the world and that is true. Jesus went to the sinner and loved them but he didn't dress like a prostitutes, look like a tax collector, talk like a thief. People were attracted to Jesus because he was different. He dressed to fit in not stand out, he acted consistently not unpredictably, he spoke truth not what the world wanted to hear. Too many today feel they have to look like the sinner, act like the sinner, be like the sinner to be able to witness to the sinner. That is nonsense. Sinners know what they got, they know the pain of the piercing, the agony of the tattoo, they know all to well. What they want is something different. I know a man that visited prison and each time he would put in his earring. I asked him one time about it and he said he wanted to fit in with the prisoners. This man knew that he couldn't fit into normal society with an earring in his ear but when he visited prison he put it there to fit in. Friend that was a study in hypocrisy. Sinners instantly know the genuine article, they instantly see though people that act or look like them but want to tell them about Jesus. What sinners want is someone that will tell them how to get out of the situation they are in. Not someone that will dress like them speak like them and act like them they want someone that has the answer! Jesus is that answer. EdB |
