Bible Question (short): ADULTRY VS BIGAMY #3 |
Question (full): Tim, What you say is correct. My non-legal mind can't see a difference between adultry and bigamy, two women, one man in both cases. The US has made rules against second wives based on Matthew 5 and 19. Yet, Moses (who was married to two women wrote these rules.) One is legal with rules, one is a sin, just verses apart. I am reading a Legalist's dissertation and he is railing on adultry, page after page. His paper is on law and grace and I am bored beyond tears. What about bigamy? If I have a one night fling, it is Adultry. If I marry two women and do both of them every night, it is ok? As a man of the Word, this seems convoluted, but may be so. Any comments from a different point of view? [One wife is almost too much. Can't imagine two bedded women under my roof. The question above is a long standing question between my brother and I. ] |
