Bible Question: If God said make no image, why did he command Moses to create images of cherubim on the top of the ark of the covenant? |
Bible Answer: Shofar, God did not say, "make no image". His word says “You, shall not make for yourself…” (Exodus 20:4 NASB). His commandment is speaking to idolatry. The creation of the ark was also commanded by God. He did not direct it to be created for mankind to worship it, rather it was created for Him! See Exodus 25:1-22. There is no contradiction in God!
