Bible Note: Hello, Stoneslinger: Welcome to the forum! Yes, they did not understand the heart of the matter: He is our Sabbath, and in Him we find our rest. There is no other way to find rest, but in Him. He is Truth, His very Word, is Truth. The law was given to show us we are sinners. And that we cannot keep the law, for no-one ever did but Him. He is the way. He died so that the sentence of death was fulfilled. And we can find life everlasting in faith that His death was sufficient to give us life, when we as sinners, deserved only death.
