Bible Question:
Could it be that the 7th-day Sabbath, written by the finger of God in the 10 commandments be a part of that "seal of God in their foreheads" (Rev 9:4)?? why forehead? because the commandments are incorporated into our thoughts. This includes the 4th commandment: "Remember..." why? because this is the one that people WILL forget. In Deuteronomy 6:6,8 states a parallel similar to this about the commandments "And these words which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes." This is in context to 10 commandments stated in Deut 5:7-21. The frontal portion of the brain that this text refers to is the decision-making part of the brain. Not only does this text state the head but also the hand referring to the actions which are primarily done with hands. here are a couple more key texts: Proverbs 7:1,3 states "keep my words and lay up my commandments within thee. Bind them upon thy fingers write them upon the tablet of thine heart" 2 Corinthians 3:3 states "For asmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. Revelations 14:12 "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" |
Bible Answer: Christiankl, the apostle Paul, as well as the book of Hebrews, makes it very clear that we are not under law (the Mosaic law, the 10 'words' of God). You sound knowledgable of Scripture so check out Romans 6:14,15; Romans 7:4; Romans 8:2; Galatians 2:4; Galatians 5:1. To relegate all these references to 'ceremonial law' is to disregard what the New Covenant gives us - becoming children of God solely by His grace. We are saved by faith in Christ, and we live by the same faith in Christ, by His very life. Jesus Himself said that not the smallest stroke of the law would disappear until it was fulfilled and HE FULFILLED IT. Paul makes it clear the we are not under law but under grace. The New Covenant says that God will write His laws (plural, loving God and loving our neighbor) on our minds, not Law (singular, the big 10). See Hebrews 10:16; Hebrews 8:10. The law has NO PLACE in the life of a New Testament believer because we have been made to die to it so that we could be joined to Christ. Rest in the Sabbath rest that remains for the people of God, Christiankl. Rest from your works and trust in His. Secondly, please don't post your doctrinal beliefs as a question. It is misleading and distracting to others who use this forum to seek answers to their questions. |
