NASB | Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Psalm 51:17 My [only] sacrifice [acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise. |
Bible Question: My heart is broken! I recently found emails my husband was writing other women online (illicit in nature). He has since repented to God, sought help from our bishop and (after a pulling teeth episode) admitted his fault to me. This is the only time (he tells me) that this has happened and is Godly sorrowful. He now says that his confession feels as though a weight has been lifted and that we could start the healing process. I've forgiven him and have agreed to counseling. But until the sessions start, how do I deal with the pain/the feeling of brokenness? |
Bible Answer: Pray about it! Alot. I just recently found out that prayer does indeed work if you only hope it works. And we should not give up if god is silent for awhile. That is only a test and if we keep going he will pour his blessing and peace over us. And dont be angry if God is silent or if it sounds silly becouse thats what the devil wants. The bible tells us to resist the devil and he'll flee!! My first ever answer here, really hope it helps. I am 25 years old and have never been married tho. |
