Bible Question: Why did the authors so frequently change from 2nd to 3rd person (writing style) from verse to verse within the same chapter? This is especially seen in the Psalms. |
Bible Answer: God's day to you, pgs, and welcome to the SBF, In Psalm 23:4, David speaks to God (in the second person), a change from talking about Him (in the third person), in the previous verses. In verse 6, he flips back to the third. So I the change from 2nd to 3rd person happens when the writer no longer is addressing the person, and now is speaking about them. I hope I addressed your question, Searcher |
