AMPLIFIED 2015 | Psalm 22:6 ¶ But I am [treated as] a worm [insignificant and powerless] and not a man; I am the scorn of men and despised by the people. [Matt 27:39-44] |
Bible Question: regarding psalm 22:6,I have read in my "evidence bible" that this is a reference to Jesus dying on the cross. I recently read a book that states that a well-known evangelist referred to Jesus as a "worm". Upon reading the bible last week,I stumbled upon this verse and one person's interpretation that was found in my study bible which states this is correct. I told a friend of mine that that reference is in scripture-am I correct? I do not want to speak out of context, especially if it is derogatory against the Lord-please help! Was this Messianic prophesy as my Bible states? |
Bible Answer: dont worry, you are right, the proffit here is telling of the crusification of jesus; he became sin who knew no sin for all mankind, the words no man here describes that jesus would be treated as anyother man.psalms 22, lists 27 sufferings of the comming messiah, read the entire psalm then read the accounts of the crusification, they will be the same in content. i hope i helped you. God bless, dl5, this is Messianic prophesy. |
