AMPLIFIED 2015 | Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower--my stronghold. [Heb 2:13] |
Bible Question: What is the "horn of my salvation"? |
Bible Answer: I seem to recall it had something to do with the horn of the alter on which the sacrifice was made in the temple. Also the Jewish ritual including sprinkling blood on certain parts of the alter, including the horn. In today's vernacular, those in contract law talk about and discuss the pros and cons of a particular court case and finally it's all summed up by asking/saying "What point of case law is the lawyer going to hang his hat?" That is to say when all is boiled down to the "crux" of the matter, what's the final point? We humans, especially men like to say a "whole lot about a lot of nothing" but I like what King Solomon had to say about it all. Eccl 12:9 In addition to being a wise man, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge; and he pondered, searched out and arranged many proverbs. Eccl 12:10 The Preacher sought to find delightful words and to write words of truth correctly. Eccl 12:11 The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd. Eccl 12:12 But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. Eccl 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. Eccl 12:14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. Hope this helps and Blessings to you. Country Girl |
