Bible Question: The Book of proverbs is it truely the book of wisdom and if so where has it taken you as far as your personal growth? |
Bible Answer: Hello, Ezra. If I should say that my reading of the book of Proverbs has made me infinitely wise, I would be a fool. But as I make my way along the path and endeavor to grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, now and then I have occasion to reflect and to make some effort to measure my progress. And though I see always room for improvement, I also am keenly aware that the person I am now, a regenerate child of the King, has been changed -- really changed -- from the person I was before knowing Christ -- and would have continued to be without knowing Him. So, in the years since that day more than 50 years ago, the book of Proverbs and all 65 other books of God's word combined with it, have had and continue to have a profound influence on my life, my worldview, and, most assuredly, my eternal destiny. --Hank |
